Rant of the day.
$6.50/sqft for vinyl tile.
$41/sheet for 1/2 plywood
$23000 for a beautiful kitchen
But I know a guy that can do the subfloor and flooring cheaper than your guy.

That guy….. uses 1” screws and doesn’t hit ANY floor joists!
doesn’t fill the flaws in the plywood and only glues where he thinks it needs it.

Little rant here…
In the last week I have had 3 new customers who have contacted me for advice and possible new installs.
All three have hired contractors from Oshawa, London and Milton to install their flooring.
All three have been ripped off!!
$2000, $500 and $500.
These company’s don’t care if you sign a contract, they know the lawyers fees are more than your deposit!
Be smart, do your homework, ask for refrences, ask a million questions ask your neighbours, call the local building centres. NEVER give a deposit unless your 100% sure
I’ve been in business for 30 years and NEVER once asked for a deposit
Be smart.

It drives me nuts!!
Installers who “think they are doing it right”
12” stair affect through out entire house, but it’s the 2” pieces at the end of the rows that will void any warranty.
No company will warranty this install
No pieces can start or finish a row unless they are bigger than 6-8”
Brand new build, Installer is more worried about his time than a proper install
