This Christmas, we made pomanders for the first time. Oranges gently studded with cloves were left to slowly scent the house as the season settled in. While they are simple and festive, their history reaches far beyond decoration.

Traditionally, this pairing was used during the winter months to bring a sense of protection and comfort into the home. Oranges have long been associated with vitality and wellbeing, while cloves carry associations of warmth, safeguarding, and prosperity. Together, they create something quietly meaningful.

Making pomanders became a small seasonal ritual for us this year. Placed in a bowl, on an entry table, or tucked into a quiet corner, they offer a gentle reminder of warmth, health, and intention throughout the Christmas season.

We’re so excited to share a glimpse of one of our upcoming projects. This kitchen beautifully balances warmth, structure, and flow.

The space is anchored by rich wood cabinetry and stone counters, bringing in the grounding Earth element. The strong lines of the millwork create a sense of stability, while the central island draws focus and naturally becomes the heart of the kitchen, a true gathering point for family and friends.

From a Feng Shui perspective, the layout supports nourishment and connection. The stove is positioned with strength, symbolizing prosperity, while the window above the sink invites fresh energy and flow. Wood, Earth, and a touch of Metal are harmonized here, creating both vitality and calm.

We cannot wait to show you more as we finish transforming this home into a space that feels not only beautiful but also deeply supportive of the people who live here.

Family photos are more than decoration. They are the heartbeat of a home.

In Feng Shui, they hold incredible power. When placed with intention, they strengthen connection, nurture harmony, and remind us daily of what matters most. The Family & Community area of the Bagua Map (the middle left section of your home) is the perfect place to display generations together and capture a sense of legacy and belonging. In the Children & Creativity area (middle right), photos celebrate growth, play, and possibility.

When we design a home, we look for ways to weave these personal touches into the space. A gallery wall that feels like art, a single portrait that draws you in, or a quiet moment on a bookshelf can all be powerful. A quiet moment in our old studio space.

So many ideas took shape here. Sketches, floor plans, and colour stories all laid out with care.

The light was always soft. The flowers were fresh. And there was usually a candle burning nearby.

Fun fact: I was nine months pregnant in this photo. Creating calm, beautiful spaces while balancing a baby bump and a busy design schedule.

Grateful for everything this space held. So excited for what’s unfolding in our new home.
