Back in March, I shared this vintage cupboard and asked for your thoughts on what colour it should become. The two options I had in mind were cream and green… but then someone suggested black.

Well, here we are! ✨

I took the leap and painted it black, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Along the way, I also decided to change the original floral vase design and replace it with one of my absolute favourite decoupage papers from MINT by michelle — Madame Le Fevre. The side panels were simplified by removing the writing, followed by a subtle dark wash to create added depth and character.

This beautiful vintage cupboard has been refinished using Time & Space, a rich black paint by MINT by michelle. The front door features the stunning Madame Le Fevre decoupage paper, adding a timeless European elegance and old-world charm.

To enhance the details, the hardware and decorative accents were lightly dry-brushed with touches of copper, creating warmth and giving the impression of gentle age and natural wear. The result is a sophisticated statement piece that feels both dramatic and refined.

I absolutely love how this transformation turned out, and I’m so glad I listened to the suggestion of black! 🖤
