Mad Melodie here with a special announcement. After 31 years with my ostomy, I was asked to do a video shoot with the Calgary Ostomy Society for Ostomy Canada. So exciting.

Teri being my supportive sister for most of those 31 years, to be fair she was 4 when I got my pouch, not like she had any choice about being supportive 😂, but after 31 years she is still here, helping where she can. So figured she deserves to be in the shoot too. Our families go through so much with our ostomies. The hospital visits, test, problems, highs, lows, they are there mentally, emotionally and physically. I believe our support people deserve to come out and have fun, enjoy the peaceful part of having an ostomy.

Nephrostomy tubes didn't stop me from participating in this awesome video shoot.

Yes, I should have dressed better but it was cold, and I was in pain and not happy. So I did my best. Next time will be better, hopefully.

Here is to 50 more years with my ostomy, minus nephrostomy tubes if I can help it.

On March 1, 2026, members of the ostomy community in Calgary came together for a video shoot, challenging stereotypes and celebrating identity as part of Ostomy Canada Society’s national awareness campaign highlighting life beyond an ostomy.

Happy Black History Month I was watching something on tv today that reminding me that February is Black History Month. Mad Melodie Kreations is proud to honor the strong Black Women who inspire me every day. Stay Strong and Stay Positive. Women Empowerment Boss Women Standing Tall and having each others back in our male dominated professions and also some of our private lives, too. Stand Tall and Stand Strong. We are Soul Sisters to the end.

Here are some photos of me Mad Melodie at an Ostomy Photo Shoot with my friends. I have had an urinary k**k pouch aka ostomy since the age of 16. I had Interstitial cystitis diagnosed at age 12 in 1990. They tortured me for 4 years trying to save my bladder. It got to the point I couldn't run by age 14, stopped sports, couldn't walk by age 15, stopped in school classes. Was told at age 15 that I had a choice to make, die or get an ostomy and survive. I picked life, I will always pick my life over death. Now it's been 30 years, my outlook is different, my understanding of the type of pouch I got, the type of life I have fought so hard for. Do I regret my decision, NO. Do I regret the type of ostomy I got, well sometimes, it's like have kids, some days are worth it and some are not. One thing I can say is I have my original stoma, no problems with the pouch itself. The canal is out of wacke, so catheterizing is difficult, scar tissue blocking the entrance to the pouch from the kidneys, but the pouch itself, is working perfectly. My plumbing needs so to be fixed. 2026 the tubes and the canal will be fixed until the scar tissue over grows again.

New Glow in the Dark Duck O' ween Hoody/Tshirt Design. The original ducks were not my digitizing, I added the blood, white teeth, bloody spots and stitches on the Zombie Duck, added the Bat Staff to the Witch Duck, changed the eyes of the Vampire Duck, the Ghost Duck was perfect just the way he was, I only added the glow in the dark thread.
