Lindsay Wilder is the principal designer and founder of Lindsay O Creative. With an Interior Design degree from Ryerson University and over six years of hospitality & residential design experience in the heart of Toronto, Lindsay brings a unique flair to Calgary’s design landscape. Rehanna Hartung graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 2009, followed b

y a Master's of Interior Design in 2012. After graduating, Rehanna worked in Winnipeg for several years on a variety of projects ranging from small residential to large commercial spaces. She brings a strong attention to detail and passion for creating beautiful spaces to each design challenge. Although she was born and raised in Winnipeg, Rehanna decided to move out west to further her career in design and experience all that the city of Calgary has to offer. Lindsay O Creative was established early in 2009 when Lindsay brought her talents back to her hometown of Calgary, Alberta. She mixes metropolitan commercial flair from Toronto with her natural Western warmth to offer an exquisite outlook on residential & commercial design in Calgary. Lindsay and her team pride themselves on their keen eye for what’s new, fresh, and upcoming. With the winter weather coming, it’s a great time to get your mudroom ready for all the mess and extra clothing that comes with the colder weather. Here are 6 key features of a great mudroom:
1. A durable floor that hides the mess, is non-slip and can handle standing water/salt
2. Shoe and boot storage, but more importantly - a spot for wet shoes to dry
3. Hooks for daily coats, and a coat rod for extra and seasonal coats
4. A spot for gloves, hats, and bags
5. A mirror for one last check on your way out
6. A door to close it off from view when required

The 3D modelling phase is such an important part of our process. This is how we ensure that we are on the same page as our clients. It also allows our contractors and trades to have a full understanding of the end product. This is just one of the design tools that our team offers.

Don’t undervalue a great stairway moment. A properly proportioned pendant light and some artwork create just enough of a focal point. Use an area rug to define a space in an open floor plan. The important thing is to make sure that the rug is large enough that each piece of furniture has at least the front legs on it. Bigger is usually better!

It’s important to not only have bright light in your kitchen but also to have different lighting types and levels. Pot lights work best to illuminate the full space, under cabinet lights illuminate the counter surface, while pendants and sconces bring interest and set the mood.

Who wouldn’t love a golf simulator at home? This space doubles as both a media room and golf simulator space. We designed the sofas so that they can be rotated for a family movie night. And then pushed to the side for some golf. We will forgive our clients for being Oilers fans 😂
