If you haven't cleaned up your garden and feel the urge to go buy some seeds. You may have a goldmine out there. While most plants will voluntarily reseed themselves. You can also harvest seeds to give away or to plant and put in different spots.

In my case I wanted a few marigolds for some pots. Got a head start by harvesting seeds from last season and starting them indoors.

This my fellow plant people is Lagos Spinach, Efo Shoko and many other names.

Here in North America it's know as Celosia, cockscomb and they come in a variety of colors red, orange, pink, yellow.

It's packed with nutrients so it can be good in your tummy and also in your cut flower arrangement.

It'll be my first year growing it, I was only attracted to it's plumes and after some research found out it's edible too.

Have any plants doing double duty in your garden?

Want more Zinnias or plants for free ?

You have to start pinching your plants and don't toss
your trimmings!

 3-Steps to more plants.

Pinch: Snip the top 3–4" of your zinnia (above a leaf node). This makes for a bushier more vigorous plant.

Prep: Strip bottom leaves so the stem is bare.

Propagate: Drop the cuttings into a jar of rinsed clay pebbles (Leca). Add water to just below the stem base—the LECA wicks the moisture to prevent rot and allows oxygen to the roots.

Result:
Place in bright, indirect light. You’ll see roots in 10 - 20 days.
Once roots hit 2", transplant to soil and keep damp for the first week.

Voila you have more plants than you started with.

Go out and multiply.

Zinnias are a lot of people's favorite flowers and without a doubt in my top 5.

Salmon or Coral is one of my favorite colors and I decided to fight the February blues with some indoor blooms and this flower didn't disappoint.

The Oklahoma Salmon variety are specifically need for longer and stronger stems for cutting. Which is to say my flower vase will be filled with beautiful cut flowers this year.

Congratulations to the giveaway Winners shoot me a message and let's get your garden ready to bloom this season.

Did you know NASA grew Zinnias on the ISS in 2016.
This flower will bloom indoors, and even in a vessel in space apparently.

Until next time, keep growing
