So happy to finally deliver this “English Bay” scarf, hat and mittens set to a dear friend. She placed the order with me almost a year ago but 9 months of being in and out of the hospital has made it hard to honour my commitments. I’m so grateful to have so many people in my life who support me have provided me with their patience and understanding. 💕🙏🥰

So excited to show you this one!! This is a kimono cardigan I made for a friend who is battling metastatic breast cancer. I wanted to make something for her that was light but yet cozy. I was able to give it her today and it looked terrific on. This is the first crochet garment I have ever made and I loved it so much I’m going to make a similar one for me. Want one too?

Hanging out at the Foothills hospital 🏥 waiting for a CT scan that will hopefully tell me this infection is finally gone. I have to drink water with a dye in it that will help my organs light up 💡 when they do the scan. So for 2 hours I sip and crochet. 🧶

I’ve been on antibiotics since my HIPEC surgery in November and between them and the chemo it is really affecting my hair line. I was never blessed with lots of thick hair to begin with so every strand is precious. In 2014 when I was bald and finished my first rounds of chemo I said that I would keep growing my hair until I completely lost it again. I keep thinking it may be time. 😕✂️ 💇🏻‍♀️

It is lightly snowing 🌨 here which means winter isn’t done with us yet! ❄️ Today I am working on mittens for a client. I love making the cuff long so that you can tuck them up your sleeves to keep extra warm.

For those of you who are waiting on your custom orders thank you for your patience. I’m finally getting some more time to work as I don’t have quite so many medical appointments each week. ☺️

Hello again!! It has been such a long time since we have connected and I am so happy to be sharing my work with you all again.

Unfortunately I am posting about a sad occasion as I learned over the weekend that a fellow Teal Sister has passed away from ovarian cancer. Elly Mayday Official Fanpage was a model who was a voice for all of us women fighting this disease. She was brave and wasn’t afraid to show what it is really like to fight cancer. She was an inspiration to me for the way that she continued to pursue her modelling career and would not let photographers air brush out her scars.

Elly’s time with us is over but I want to honour her and everything she accomplished so I have started a ombré teal shawl in her honour.

My journey continues but right now I am fighting the infections I received after my surgery in November. Like Elly, I’m going to keep a positive outlook and keep planning for better months to come.

Love and light Elly, you are missed. 💔👗🌻🎗

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer here in Calgary has created an incredible display of knitted and crocheted poppies to commemorate the occasion. Inspired by the Tower of London installation, groups from around the world have also created some stunning displays. Today we remember all those who have served and who have lost their lives so that we may live ours in peace. Today I am grateful for them all. 🙏 ❤️☮️
