Stormy Point FiberArts

Stormy Point FiberArts Welcome to Stormy Point FiberArts! I am an Artisan HandWeaver, Spinner, Knitter and Sewist. I make custom textiles for the home as well as clothing accessories.

If you have an idea for a textile, I can work with you to bring your ideas to reality. Stormy Point Fiber~Arts came about from my life long love of crafting. The very first item I made in Grade 7 Home Economics class was an apron, after that, I was hooked. Since then I have been puttering in my crafting space making clothing for myself, my kids, home decorating finishes and many other hand sewn or

hand knit items. Since 2013, I have immersed myself into the wonderful world of Hand-Weaving and related Fiber-Arts. So much so that I have garnered 3 floor looms and 4 spinning wheels along with a healthy fiber stash to work from. I offer a variety of custom, Hand-Woven textiles from Tea Towels, Blankets, Table Runners, Shawls, Scarves, Napkins, Placemats and Baby Burp cloths/washcloths/baby blankets. Every design piece is crafted with strict attention to detail, quality workmanship and using only the finest fibers, fabrics and materials manufactured in North America. I do want to thank you for your decision to purchase a handcrafted item. Whether it be from my shop or another, in order to keep the dream of thousands of 'at home' entrepreneurs alive, it takes great people like you who respect the craft enough to stray from the department store cookie cutter offerings...you have great taste and want to show it by purchasing something you will probably never see on another arm any where...any time! I am located in Callander, Ontario and will ship within Canada and to the U.S. (at Buyer's costs), but due to the high costs of shipping, will not ship international.

Newest piece of equipment added to the weaving studio....a new to me Serger!!!

Definitely a learning curve as I have never used one before and it will definitely make some sewing projects go a lot better.

After a test drive this afternoon she is all set to be put to work....but first I have to get back to the custom towel order on the loom ;)

Another custom tea towel order in the works!

Loving this Cherry 🍒 Red, Tan and White!

5 warp chains wound and ready for the loom. 583 threads, each one is 10 yards long...that is 5, 830 yards of yarn wound on the warping board!

Time to start threading!

This warp just makes me smile every time I sit down to weave it!

I designed the warp 2 years ago in Fiberworks (weaving software) with inspiration taken from a paint scheme on a Kyle Busch racecar (Nascar) who tragically passed away a couple months ago. This is now my homage to a great race car driver gone too soon.

The green in my pic isn't as lime green as it is in real life, some colours are hard to capture correctly with a camera.

Anyway, this tea towel warp warp will consist of 6 towels that will absolutely obnoxiously steal the show in your kitchen lol. Not for the faint of heart or those that have to have matching kitchen towels, these need someone with enough eclectic spirit to love them.

I will post final photos once they are off the loom in a couple weeks, meanwhile, enjoy the blast of vibrant colour!

This custom order for 8 tea towels is officially complete! I sincerely want to thank the wonderful gal who entrusted me to create these heirlooms for her. 🥰

They will be sent off in the mail this week to their new kitchen hangout 😃

It has been a pleasure to weave these, just love the colours chosen too!

Now back to the other 2 looms that have projects on them that need finishing up.😃

Weaving has commenced after wrestling 10 yards of warp yarns onto the loom this morning. This is the first of 8 towels in this lovely colourway!

Lime green, dark gray and natural is a fantastic mix! 💚

One loom loaded up and sampling weft colours and another loom ready to have warps put on. The lime green, natural and dark gray warp is a custom tea towel order, therefore takes priority over the other one (which isn't a custom order, just me playing with colour lol).

The big loom still has alpaca blankets on it (2 of 3 woven so far) so all my looms will be dressed! Nobody likes a nekkid loom ;)
