TL:DR
Next weekend, June 13, along with new lines and wares, I will also be having a Near-perfect Sample Sale and Fundraiser at the All proceeds will go directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Pots shown here along with others will be available for purchase and with your support we can maybe make a difference for someone who is struggling.
Along with being a Consultant, and a potter, I am also a mother to two amazing humans. I tend to keep personal life personal and separate but the purpose behind this fundraiser is deeply personal. My boy has struggled most of his life - first with adhd, then depression and anxiety as a late teen, then we were hit with the diagnosis bi-polar as a young adult. Only to be recently amended to Borderline Personality Disorder. And the last few weeks have been extremely challenging, including a recent call to 911 and a short but needed hospital stay to stabilize and mobilize some additional resources.
As I have gone through and supported this journey, it was crystal clear early on, that there is no where near enough resources, support, and education for those living with mental illness and the family that surrounds them with loving arms. So very very little. For my son, this will be a life long challenge but with the right support and the right people by his side he will be able to make it through.
Making that call for someone who is hurting is never easy. If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help.
🚨 If you or someone you know is in immediate physical danger, dial 9-1-1.
