Well, they say all good things must come to an end, and that is indeed the case for our Alaskan adventure. Our final ports were Juneau and Victoria BC. We didn’t book excursions in either port, opting instead to stroll around town and take in the local vibe. I have to say, Victoria has definitely moved into the running for a potential retirement destination! Such a beautiful city! This evening we are grabbing a few hours of sleep at a hotel by the airport before flying out at 5:30 tomorrow morning. Can’t wait to sleep in my own bed and snuggle my kitties!

Required disclaimer: earning the incentive trip is not an easy task…in fact only 24 Canadians (out of approximately 3000 demonstrators) qualified for this year’s trip. I don’t say this to boast, but because I am required to make you aware that earning the trip is not part of the typical demonstrator experience. I’m so grateful that my love for pretty paper allows me to earn this reward.

Definitely worth the 5 am alarm! Sailing up Endicott Arm this morning was otherworldly. The low clouds, rugged coastline, blue icebergs and countless waterfalls were simply magical. At the end of the fjord was the prize…Dawes Glacier. We were lucky enough to witness new icebergs calving from the glacier, though I didn’t catch it on video. The ship did a 360 degree turn so everyone got a view of the glacier, which was a tight squeeze, to say the least. Now sailing back out the fjord and on to Juneau for the afternoon.

I feel so blessed that sharing my love for pretty paper crafts allows me to take John on these amazing trips that we otherwise would never be able to afford. Thank you, Stampin’ Up! for this incredible experience!
Required disclaimer: earning these trips is not easy…it takes a ton of work and is something that less than 1% of demonstrators achieve each year. Feeling thankful that I am one of them!

Skagway is absolutely stunning. Stampin’ Up! Gifted us tickets for the White Pass Scenic Railway, which took us from sea level up 3000 ft to White’s Pass. There are no words to describe the beauty of this rugged wilderness, nor do my photos do it one bit of justice. In awe of the majesty of creation. Back in town we visited the Skagway Brewing Company for lunch…along with several thousand other passengers from the four cruise ships that were in port today. The time town of Skagway, population 1100 grows exponentially whenever a ship is in port. As we walked back to the ship we were blessed with a brief sighting of two seals in the harbor. They posed for just a moment and then dove out of sight. What a thrill to see these adorable creatures in their natural habitat!

Stampin’ Up! Generously rewards demonstrators who earn the incentive trip each year because it takes a ton of work and is earned by less than 1% of demonstrators worldwide. I’m so honoured to be among them!

Sitka is absolutely beautiful! Quiet, small and nature at every turn…my kinda place!

Day two was just as busy as yesterday. Up early, off to a buffet breakfast courtesy of Stampin’ Up!, then a walk to explore Pike Place Market before boarding the bus to the ship. Lots of steps during a scavenger hunt to gather stickers for our water bottles, then dinner and an early bedtime as we literally sail into the sunset. I didn’t take nearly enough photos today…too busy chatting and connecting with friends. Life is good at sea!

It was a gorgeous day in Seattle! Perfect for visiting the Space Needle and Chihuly Glass Gallery and Gardens. Now it’s time to change out of the clothes we’ve been wearing for nearly 24 hrs and get some rest. Tomorrow we board the ship!

Required disclaimer: less than 1% of demonstrators earn the incentive trip each year. It’s a ton of work and I’m so thrilled to be rewarded for my effort.
