This was an interesting one from the last firing. Sprayed with soda ash first to encourage flashing. tThen propped on it...

This was an interesting one from the last firing. Sprayed with soda ash first to encourage flashing. t
Then propped on its side, I sprayed on ash glaze from the top until drips formed. Side firered on a ring of shells in reduction gave nice oranges on the bare side with the imprints of shells, opposed by the subtle aqua color of the ash glaze on the glazed side. Interesting result using wood firing techniques in gas, probably won't be the last time I try this.

My little (quite big) jewels! Fresh from the kiln (with ) these pots were thrown and joined in sections with the goal of going bigger with volume. These were glazed with reactive glazes that use iron to produce luscious green, supple light blue, and warm oranges when fired in the reduction atmosphere of the gas kiln. The first pot will be staying with me and I'll be turning it into a table lamp, the others will be coming with us to the in June. More from the kiln to follow!

Had the honor of getting to cook some pots in 's kiln! Lots of reduction reactive glazes and big pots fired to cone 10. First gas firing for my pots and I'm very pleased! More posts to follow with a closer look at some of the pots, so keep an eye out!

Been planning this one for a while, very happy to see it finally materialize. Thrown in two pieces, thrown foot, with my underglaze transfers applied.
