iPhone Interior Photography Tips for Designers
You don’t need a DSLR to capture your work beautifully, your iPhone is more powerful than you think.
Here are 5 pro tips to shoot your next project like a magazine spread:
Turn Off Overhead Lights
Natural light is your best friend. Artificial lighting creates yellow casts and harsh shadows.
Clean Your Lens
A quick wipe = sharper, cleaner shots (you’d be surprised how smudgy it gets!)
Use Gridlines for Balance
Turn on the grid in Settings → Camera → Grid. Use it to straighten walls, align furniture, and follow the rule of thirds.
Tap to Focus + Adjust Exposure
Tap the screen to focus, then slide your finger up or down to brighten or darken the image. Don’t just snap, control the light.
Shoot Wide, Then Zoom with Your Feet
Use the native 1x lens (or 0.5x for ultra-wide) and physically move to frame the shot. Digital zoom = blurry photos.
Pro tip: Try shooting from knee height for living rooms, it’s more flattering for furniture!
