Riverside Luxury in the Making 🌊🤎

Today, Asher and I stopped by our riverside renovation with Signature Lux Builders, and this floor is really starting to take shape!

This stunning 9” wide Northern Solid Sawn White Oak from Vintage Hardwood Floors brings beautiful natural character and warmth to this incredible space.

Luke is doing an amazing job with the full-spread glue-down installation, ensuring every detail is handled with care and precision.

And we’re not done yet! The herringbone installation in the pantry starts Saturday. 👀 Stay tuned — we’ll keep you posted as this project comes together!

At Owen Flooring, we love seeing quality Canadian made materials and expert craftsmanship come together to create something special.

We completed the tile work on this incredible log home renovation with Dave Ewald a few months back.

We know what you’re thinking…

“That tile looks like wood.”

That’s because it is wood. 👀

The original logs from this log cabin were incorporated right into the shower design. And no, those aren’t exposed logs.

We waterproofed the shower just as we would any other shower, while Ewald Homes brought an incredibly creative idea to life: Erie Glass installed a sheet of glass over the original logs, allowing the homeowners to keep the look and character of the exposed log while still getting the protection and waterproofing needed in a shower.

What an amazing idea from the Ewald Homes clients — and an even better ex*****on by the team.

We love seeing unique ideas like this come to life.

Before a single tile is set, there’s a lot of work happening behind the scenes.

When our tile setters arrive on site, the shower may look ready to go — but that’s only the beginning.

At this latest Bouma Builders ensuite, our team:

▪️ Checked the bench slope to ensure water moves away from the future shower glass and toward the drain.

▪️ Built a custom shower pan with the correct slope to the drain and a perfectly level perimeter. This is especially important when installing large-format tile in an envelope-style layout. (Photo 2)

▪️ Waterproofed the entire shower system, including the pan and walls, and installed an uncoupling membrane on the subfloor to help protect the tile installation from movement and reduce the potential for future cracks in the tile and grout. (Photo 3)

The tile installation is only as good as what’s underneath it.

Proper preparation. Proper waterproofing. Proper installation.

This is just another example of the work that goes into creating a shower that looks incredible today — and is built to perform for years to come.

Ensuite Reveal ✨

Another beautiful custom ensuite from Ewald Homes is complete—and this one is packed with thoughtful details from floor to ceiling.

The ensuite features 24” x 24” RoyaleStone tile from Eben Floors, with a matte finish on the floor and a textured finish on the walls, while maintaining the same beautiful colour throughout.

The custom shower features a 0-barrier flush transition with an envelope-cut floor, creating a clean, seamless look. Underfoot, we installed in-floor heating, controlled by a digital programmable Wi-Fi thermostat—because warm floors are one of those little luxuries you never want to give up.

The beautiful custom vanity was made locally by Windmill Cabinet Shop, and the ensuite connects to a large walk-in closet finished with wide-plank white oak flooring from Kentwood Floors.

And just when you thought we were finished… we also supplied and installed Canadian-made window coverings from Maxxmar Window Fashions. 🇨🇦

From tile and heated floors to custom cabinetry, hardwood and window coverings, Owen Flooring helped bring all the finishing details together.

All of this inside the latest Ewald Homes custom ensuite.

Designed beautifully. Finished properly. Built to last.
