Simon and I are picking all the flowers for markets this weekend. I’m in the Dahlias and he’s in the Statice. We also have Cosmos, Lisianthus, Zinnias, Sunflowers, Celosia, Strawflowers, Snapdragons, and Eucalyptus 👍

Our peony’s and ranunculus are just about done but the feverfew, roses, stock, and bellflowers are starting to bloom and we are busy sowing sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias and grasses.

Blush Queen is one of the last Peonies to bloom in our garden and she is beautiful! I’ve really enjoyed Peony season this year, walking the rows with my coffee, pinching for the marshmallow stage, then bringing armloads into the cooler to share with our customers❤️

It’s good to look at progress photos, this is the difference between March 2- May 5. When you’re in the thick of prepping rows, starting seeds, and planting, it’s hard to remember to take time for notes.

I’m finally starting to keep a journal, (better late than never) keeping notes on varieties, colour, gardening successes and failures. This will help us remember what works year over year. 😊
