Marigolds! What makes them so special?
Of course they're showy, beautiful and come in multiple colours. But they have a pretty cool effect on your gardens too!

These flowers have a unique smell that can deter pests like aphids, white fly, cabbage worms and root knot nematodes.

Marigolds aren't a "one and done" solution to garden pests but they have been reported to reduce pests. They're best planted mixed in the garden or bordering your beds.

Are you wanting to plant veggies for early spring cooler temperatures?
We got you!

Depending on the type of veggie starter you grab, will determine your growing needs. However, there are some basics we can apply to growing most food producing plants!

- Nutrient dense soils & composts 💩 just like us, plants need nutrients to grow strong & healthy. Refresh existing soil with compost when planting.

- Sunlight 🌞 majority of the food crops need 6+ hours of sunlight. Some crops prefer protection for the mid day sun on hot days, like lettuce. There are some that thrive in the heat, like tomatoes.

- Water 💧 watering is so important! Ask us or research the watering needs for your crop! Some veggies like celery, require a lot of water vs pepper plants who can tolerate some drought.

- Spacing 📏 like any plant, a vegetable plant needs room to grow! That means above ground and below. Roots need room just as much as foliage. Root veggies like carrots, need adequate depth in the ground or container for success!
