Good afternoon, and Happy Tool Tip Tuesday! 🔧

This is a reminder that if you’re informed your furnace has a cracked heat exchanger, you should not run the furnace. A cracked heat exchanger can allow carbon monoxide to enter the air stream, which can be extremely dangerous.

In many cases, the heat exchanger can be replaced, as most come with a 20-year warranty. However, depending on the age and condition of the unit, replacing the entire furnace may be a more practical and cost-effective option than repairing it.
