My family is getting older and everyone likes money for a gift so they can buy what they like or put it together with other money but I don't like just giving cash. It seems impersonal and not very meaningful somehow so I am always looking for ways to "package" it in something that feels a little more thoughtful to me.

So I found a design and made gift boxes .... What do you think?

This project was a fun exploration from beginning to end. We had an inquiry to engrave a 1930's Case Model C Tractor on wood for a gentleman turning 90. With additional information, it was determined that wood engravings weren't a practical choice for the clients idea of table centerpieces. We decided to present a different idea as a possibility. The plates were our first test, the square vase the 2nd and the round vase was the final piece that the client chose to have done. 10 in all. The name of the gentleman turning 90 and his year of birth replaced the text on the final items done. Now, we have other ideas as a result...

Working on some table centre pieces for an event. With a diode laser you have to coat the glass evenly with a paint, then laser onto to paint. It etches off the paint and a little of the glass underneath leaving a frosted look.
To allow for lasering on a curved surface you need a roller with a weighted base, as seen in the photos. 😀 more to come!
