Based in the majestic hills of Northumberland County, we strive to keep each and every historic barn from landfill, thereby reducing the impact on the environment, and allowing our customers the opportunity to share in the beauty that these materials have to offer. Preservation is paramount as we carefully deconstruct a variety of old growth lumber structures, striving to save everything from the
rolled stone in the foundation on up to the peak ridge board. At Bored Barn, the vast majority of our resources are from old growth virgin forests. What that means to you is that our product is, in most cases, hundreds of years old with few imperfections such as knots and rot. Imagine if you will that the piece of wood that you have in your exposed beam ceiling, or as a fireplace mantle, tabletop, or flooring was hand hewn with simple tools over one hundred years ago and the likelihood that the tree that the lumber came from was at least one hundred years old at the time of harvest.
