I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “kitchens are the heart of the home.” And that’s because they’re the workhorse of any living space in your house. They’re where meals are prepared, memories are made, and gatherings are hosted.

Designing a kitchen that not only reflects personal style but also prioritizes durability and functionality is crucial for creating a space that can withstand the demands of everyday life while still being a place of comfort and joy. It’s all about finding that perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality and that’s one of the things I’m most proud of and passionate about!

Which mudroom design is YOUR favourite, A, B, C or D?

I spent some time this weekend working on some AI assisted designs and gained so much inspiration for upcoming projects!

Thanks again, for encouraging me to do this!

Want to know what my two favourite design concepts are to implement in any kitchen?

First, a panel ready refrigerator! I love how much more seamless it can make a kitchen. It allows your cabinetry to transition from storage to appliance without interruption to the overall aesthetic. They’re certainly an investment piece and they don’t fit every budget (and that’s ok!) but if we can make it work, I like to incorporate them.

Second, counter top cabinets! Taller upper cabinets that sit directly on top of your lower cabinets create a more custom and elevated look and allow for more hidden storage for things like small appliances. I love to use them as appliance garages or food pantries.

For me, these types of design concepts transcend short lived trends and just make sense across the board allowing your kitchen to go the distance for you!

The custom cabinets by in this mudroom provide as much character and visual interest as they do storage!

With three teenagers living in this home, we needed to maximize storage capacity, but do so in a way that felt sophisticated and timeless!

We carried the same 12x24 tiled floor in here to keep things as cohesive as possible as this room is immediately off of the kitchen. Still swooning over this tile from !

Islands, the workhorse of every kitchen, it seems! For this one we really wanted it to feel like a furniture piece, so we went for these beautiful square legs and classic shaker style drawer fronts. The red oak wood grain and custom stain are stealing the show and giving the exact level of warmth we were looking for! We topped it with this incredible black quartz in a suede finish to keep things casual but sophisticated. And the unlaquered brass hardware..need I say more?

Which butler’s pantry would you pick? I’ve been working away on some AI pantry designs and the first 3 are in the most glorious jewel tones, navy, charcoal and green, while the 4th is a classic greige.

Which one of these speaks to you the most?!?
