MY FAVE PAPER WALL

I know paper collections neatly organized on a wall probably isn't everyone’s idea of decorating ... but it sure is one of mine 💛

Maybe it’s because I grew up in the ’80s, when it felt like every colour was brighter, every craft supply was magical, and there was something SO exciting about opening a brand new package of paper ... that feeling has never really left me 🥹

This wall in my studio is more than organization. It’s inspiration. It’s happiness. It’s a daily reminder that I’m continuing to create a space filled with the things I love ... because they make me feel creative every time I walk into this space 💛

This was an important step in my summer studio refresh, and I am excited that there are plenty more happy little changes to come ... for now, I’ll just be over here admiring my paper wall like it’s a piece of fine art 🤣

BE THE STORYTELLER

I’ve always believed that photos capture a moment, but stories capture a life.

This layout is about ours newest kitten, Audrey, and while I am obsessed with the photos, it’s the journaling that means the most to me ... long, detailed version !!

One day, these pics will show what she looked like when she first came to our family, but the words will tell the story of how she became an Edwardson 🥹

Over the last more than 20 years i have put A LOT of photos on paper ... and I’ve realized that memory keeping isn’t really about paper, supplies, albums, or even photos ... it is truly being the storyteller for my family !

It’s about capturing the moments that otherwise would be forgotten in time ... the days that become extraordinary memories ... and the little details we think we’ll never forget, but somehow do ... unless we WRITE THEM DOWN !!

THE BEST THING ?! ... is that storytelling doesn’t require a 12x12 scrapbook page ... It can live in a traveller’s notebook, a pocket page album, a mini album, a journal, a recipe card, a collection of handwritten notes, or anywhere else that feels right to you !!

There is no wrong way to preserve a story. What matters most is that you just do it ... because generations from now, someone may hold those pages in their hands and see the photos, but through your words, they’ll hear your voice and that is where the magic happens !!

They’ll know what mattered to you.

They’ll know who you loved.

They’ll know what life looked like in every season ... and for me, that’s the biggest gift of memory keeping ... not just preserving pictures, but preserving stories too 💛

SCRAPBOOKED SHOES 🐧

OK ... these shoes 100% look like they were designed by someone who scrapbooks ... am i right 😂

They literally jumped out of the shop window at me and immediately i thought they looked like a perfectly layered embellishment cluster ... i mean come on !! All i see is glitter cardstock, ribbon, enamel dots, dimension, texture ... AND a bird 🐦🎨

Honestly, if a scrapbook layout and a fashion designer had a baby ... this stunning pair of shoes would be it 😜

The colors are fabulous in the best possible way ... and you know how much I love color ... these babies are the main event, the title on the page. They are possibly perfection 🤩
.. how about those sparkle heels ?! They basically belong in my craft studio beside my patterned paper and fave glitter washi tape 🤣

Creativity shows up in every part of my life ... and apparently even in my shoe choices now !!

Tell me I’m not the only scrapbooker who looks at things and immediately thinks, “well THAT would make a great layout.” 😂

ALSO ... YES they are actually comfortable !!!!!!!!!! They'll be making their public debut at an incredible charity gala I'm attending next weekend ... get ready to see these birds on the dance floor 🤩🙌🏻💛

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, these (2) are worth so much more than that to me ...

The photos were both taken by fellow crafters in workshops I was teaching ... they were captured (16) months and a little more than (60) lbs apart.

My health journey has been complex and is worth sharing ... follow along as I document this transformative time in my life (and health) through creative storytelling and scrapbooking !!

FUN FACT: the layout that I am sharing in the 2nd photo is all about the event I was teaching at in the first photo 🥹

Oh Paris ... how you completely stole my heart 💕

These were some of the very first photos that we took once we arrived ... and I honestly still get emotional thinking about it !! The cobblestone streets, the cafés, the views, the energy of the city ... but most of all, sharing it with Emma 💕

There is just something so special about traveling together at this stage of life — watching her experience it, laughing our way through the days, soaking up every single moment. Those are the memories I never want to forget ... and moments like this are the exact reason I am a scrapbooker, memory keeper and creative storyteller 💛

Here's the thing ... photos sitting on your phone don’t tell the full story. The feelings, the little moments, the “remember when …” — that’s what matters most.

That’s why I still offer layout workshops both online and in person every year ... I want to make sure I don't forget the memories we've made ... and I want to help you do the same too !!

My classes are not just about pretty pages (although we LOVE those 😉), they’re about getting your memories off your phone and into your albums where they can be seen, shared, and treasured for years to come !

ALWAYS ON HAND

There is just something about having a little stash of cards ready to go… am I right 🤩

I spent time with the Simple Vintage Lavender Fields Card Kit and honestly… I may have gotten a little carried away with the layering (is that even possible lol ?!) ... zero regrets 😄 !!

These kits make it so easy to create the prettiest cards in no time — which means I now have a stack ready for all my 'thinking of you' moments… and also 'just because i missed you' notes 💛
.. because you know there is nothing better than opening your mailbox and finding something other than bills 🙌🏻🤣💛
