September Markets 🌻

We can hardly believe we’re rolling into September already! This summer flew by, but these chilly mornings have us feeling ready for cozy candle weather 🕯️

We have so many awesome markets in the calendar this month! We can’t wait to see you at one of these events! We’re busy working behind the scenes on a new Fall scent, that should be ready to launch mid September 🤩

We hope you’re all doing amazing and thank you for the incredible support this summer friends! Y’all are the BEST 🥹💛

U P D A T E 🤍

We have a little update to share with our Homestead family!

After nearly 4 years of making and pouring candles, our little business has grown in ways we could have only dreamed of. We’re so incredibly grateful for every candle you’ve purchased, every market you’ve visited us at, every retailer who carries our candles, and every person who has supported our small business along the way. 🥹💛

Over the past few years, the cost of the materials that go into making our candles — including wax, jars and fragrance oils — has continued to increase. After doing a lot of number crunching, we’ve made the decision to make a small price adjustment so we can continue doing what we love and creating the same high-quality candles you know and love.

✨ Starting September 8th, our new retail prices will be:

🕯️ 6oz — $20 + tax
🕯️ 11oz — $30 + tax

We know that price increases are never anyone’s favourite, and we truly don’t take this decision lightly. We’ve kept the increase as small as possible while still allowing our little family business to continue growing.

Thank you for continuing to choose small, local and handmade. Every single purchase means more to us than you know. ❤️

August Markets ☀️

Wowza!!! We can hardly believe that we’re rolling into August already! This summer is flying by! We’ll be away on a family vacation for the first few weeks of August, but back for some fun market dates starting August 15th 🙌

Friends!!!! This was SO fun! We’re on a road trip to the coast to visit family and were able to stop at one of our INCREDIBLE retail partners in Castlegar 🤩😍

Oh my heart! This shop is absolutely stunning and the words of the song playing are what I said the whole time I was browsing 😂🛍️

Venus (the amazing store manager) even gave our little girlies each a teddy bear! We just dropped off sooo many candles including fall scents 🍂🍁

Don’t live in Castlegar to shop? No problem! They have an online shop with shipping all across Canada 🇨🇦 I always tell Bran that DDC is the Kootenay version of Pottery Barn 👌🙌

As many of your know, we had the absolute pleasure of working with Tomi Janes Boutique to develop an exclusive candle scent, inspired by their Cherry Orchard in Creston!!! Y’all have been loving the Cherry Ridge Kiss candle!! YAY!!!

With all this sunny hot weather, their cherries are ready for picking and eating! Woot woot! I’ve heard from soooo many people that they’re the best cherries around! Head on down to Creston for a fun family day at their u-pick farm OR message Kristen for pick up in Cranbrook. Yay!!! Happy Sunday friends 🍒😍

10 Years 💒

Yesterday we celebrated 10 years of marriage, and wowza has it even been a fun and incredible season of life! Over these years we’ve moved houses, welcomed 3 baby girls and started a candle business! The candle business part was definitely not something we thought we would do, but it has been such a gift to our family and so stinkin fun!

What started as Bran making candles for me (what a great guy! 🥹😍) as grown and changed in so many ways. From hand writing scent names on labels, to an incredible rebrand with Sidekick Printing Inc., our business looks soooo different from when it launched in 2022. We now have our candles in 13 retail locations and have added many scents to our collections 🕯️

We are so excited for all that is to come and can’t thank you enough for being here, whether you were here from the start or just found our little biz, we’re grateful!

We are sooo pumped for all the fun events we have in the calendar this month! Market season is just the best and we’re excited to be branching out to the Invermere Farmers Market too! Wahoo!!

My dear friend Kyla will be running our booth in Cranbrook on July 4th and Invermere on July 18th. She is so so lovely! Be sure to say hi! Her fav candle is the Tropical Citronella and Peppermint and Eucalyptus 💛
