Shared Resilience: During the early settlement and farming eras, Ukrainian and First Nations women encountered one another through shared communities, exchanging knowledge, resources, and experiences.

Traditional Ukrainian floral headscarves, or хустки, were among the gifts and trade items shared with Indigenous women as expressions of friendship and mutual respect.

Today, we honour this day through reflection, remembrance, and a commitment to learning from the histories and experiences of Indigenous peoples.
