Today is Red Dress Day.

A day to honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.

Across the country, red dresses are seen as symbols of those who are missing and

I think of the artwork “Remembrance” by Karen Erickson. A woman in a red dress, walking quietly through the birch trees. It’s a powerful image of presence, absence, and memory… and a reminder that these stories must never be forgotten.

Today, we pause.
We remember.
We honour.

🌱 Celebrating Another Growing Communities Grant Success! 🎨💚

Today, we’re proud to highlight Prairie Sky Art Studio, one of the inspiring recipients of our Growing Communities Grant! 🌿

They received $4,000 to enhance their creative space and expand their impact in the community.

✨ Here’s what they had to say:
Prairie Sky Art Studio is an interactive art studio featuring local artisans, offering engaging classes and a welcoming space to socialize and shop local. We currently have 13 members and would love to add more. We can be found in the Dysart Community Centre at 204 McKendre Street. We are open Wednesday’s 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. and Saturday’s 12–4 p.m. With RCU’s donation for a Growing Communities Grant, the Studio has been able to offer additional classes and increased our marketing tools, including a new highway sign to be installed in the spring 2026. The funds allowed us to upgrade many of the “behind the scenes” equipment needed to operate the Studio. We are very thankful for the donation.

We’re proud to support initiatives that bring people together, spark creativity, and strengthen our communities. 🖌️✨
