The green. I know. 🥹

This kitchen has been living in my head rent free since I finished it and I'm not even a little sorry about posting it.

There's something about a moody cabinet colour paired with warm brass and natural wood that just makes a space feel like it has a whole personality. Like this kitchen has opinions. I respect that in a room.

The chevron backsplash was the moment it all clicked for me. Before that it was beautiful. After that it had a soul.

I will never get tired of rendering kitchens. Every single one teaches me something new about how light behaves differently depending on the materials around it. That window light hitting the island countertop? That's not an accident. That took some convincing. 😂

Unpopular opinion: the first render was never meant to be the final answer.

I think there's this assumption that visualization happens at the end. Like the design is done, decisions are made, and the render is just... the pretty picture you show up with. But that's not how this actually works. Or at least, it's not how it works when it works well.

The first render is a conversation starter. It's the designer's initial vision, fully realized, laid out in front of the client so they can actually react to something real. What do they love? What doesn't feel right? What do they want more of? You cannot get those answers from a mood board and a paint chip. You get them when someone can see their actual space.

So we iterate. We come back with version two informed by everything that conversation surfaced. And somewhere in that process the client stops feeling like they're approving something and starts feeling like they're part of something.
That's the whole point.

Rendering isn't the last step. It's the thread that runs through the whole process and keeps everyone on the same page.

Not every render needs to be a showstopper.

Sometimes a client just needs to feel the space. The scale of the table, the way the light moves through the room, whether the whole thing breathes the way they imagined it would.

This one is simple. And that's exactly what it needed to be.

There's something I really love about a straightforward space done well. No smoke and mirrors, just a honest look at what the room is going to feel like to actually sit in.

That's what visualization is for at the end of the day. To share your vision. To make the decision easier.

I didn't start here. I started exactly where most of you are.

My own clients. My own projects. Designing spaces and falling completely in love with the process of bringing a vision to life, which for me, always happened through a screen. I've worked virtually from the beginning, so connecting remotely just became... how I do things.

Along the way I started collaborating with other designers. Helping with presentations, social media, and then the thing that really got me: 3D visualization. With over 800 hours of training, rendering, and honestly just refusing to leave the program until I figured it out... I can tell you with full confidence that rendering is as much an art as it is a technical skill. It scratches every creative itch I have while actually being useful to someone else, which is kind of a dream combination.

Here's what I know about this industry: it's a lot. The clients, the sourcing, the presentations, the communication, the business side of running a business... it's genuinely a lot for one person to carry. I never want another designer to feel overwhelmed or like they're doing it alone. That's not dramatic, it's just true.

So I stay boutique on purpose. Because every designer I work with deserves actual attention, not a template, not a rushed turnaround. Whether that's refining your process so I can actually slot in and help, or just hyping you up before you walk into a big client meeting. 👋

Both are equally my job and I love every bit of it.

I've been wanting to write something for a while. A little fictional series about a designer who lives in my head.

I've spent a lot of time inside other designers' worlds.

Their briefs. Their visions. Their 2am panic and their quiet pride when something finally comes together exactly right.

After a while you start to notice the things they all share.

The way the brain never really stops.
The projects that live rent free for weeks.

The love for this work that sits right next to the exhaustion of it.

This character came from all of that.

She isn't one person.

She's a little bit of everyone I've ever had the privilege of working alongside.

She works from home in a spare bedroom turned office.

She has a partner who doesn't fully understand what she does. But he checks on her when it gets late. Brings food when she forgets to eat. And reheats the coffee she abandons more than once in a day.

She has a plant she named after her very first client.

She always has at least 23 tabs open on her computer....but tab 5 never gets closed.

I'll be sharing her story in chapters.

Some weeks it'll make you laugh.

Some weeks it'll feel uncomfortably familiar.

Either way, she's happy to have you here.

somewhere to slow down, curl up, and just be for a bit.

A place for early mornings with a warm cup of tea,
afternoons spent reading,
and that soft, calm feeling at the end of a long day.

You can explain your concept, create a moodboard...
You can even sketch it out.

But when they can see it like this,
when they can picture themselves sitting here...

that’s when they feel heard.
That’s when the confidence comes in.

This one was focused on keeping everything really straightforward;
storage, seating, a place for everything to land.
