Welcome to Creative Trans4mations the ART of century timber. We are a family run business with a definite passion for woodworking especially with centuries old reclaimed timber. Along with my best friend, beautiful wife and partner Marie we are dedicated to creating truly one-of-a-kind pieces from reclaimed materials acquired from century old structures which were destined to either be burned or t

otally destroyed. Nothing can match the beauty, character, strength and integrity of these tight grained old growth timbers. In our humble wee shop on the outskirts of the city of Peterborough, Ontario in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes we transform discarded and unwanted hand hewed timbers that have weathered and aged over a hundred years. Each of our finished pieces are a tribute to both the pioneering spirit and the towering majestic tree that once stood. Each timber is different with it's own challenges & characteristics, and with over forty years experience there's still something new and exciting to learn from every piece. Hours upon hours are usually spent hand sanding (we call this a labour of love) to a buttery smoothness exposing the best of what this gorgeous tight grained ancient wood has to offer. “What goes around comes around”

Six years ago this month “Creative Trans4mations & Renovations” was formed and became an Ontario registered company.

With the acceptance of a full-time position at Alf Curtis Home improvements retail store we will be discontinuing the “& Renovations” portion. As of Tuesday May 24th, 2016 I will be back behind a sales counter where I started my career oh so many years ago.

We would like to thank our family, friends and past clients who have allowed us the opportunity to add that special touch to their projects it has been our honour and pleasure working with you.

As for the “Renovations”… well reno’s will still happen but the focus will be on our own home and for our custom one-of-a-kind heirlooms and unique century timber fireplace mantel commissions as always shall remain welcomed.
