Loading up some giant elm logs!
Unfortunately this tree finally succumbed to disease and had to be taken down. We just managed to get these massive 30" diameter logs onto the trailer with the new winch. It took some leverage to get these two unstuck while getting the 2nd log on the trailer.
After milling it and having it dried, we will be turning this tree into a table and bench for our client.
I'm really looking forward to opening these up to see the grain inside!

We finished the final details on this built-in closet today. We really enjoyed bringing our client's vision to life and we are incredibly pleased with the result.
This project had a wide variety of elements, including hand textured panels, turned coat hooks, custom leather drawer pulls and a seamless fit into the existing space.

Our client asked us to make two bedside tables out of a dressing table that had been in her family for a few generations. We were more than happy to oblige.
After taking the original piece apart it was just a matter turning out some new front legs to match, making new rear legs and recreating the profile of the top.
This kind of project is probably out favourite. It brings new life to an old piece of furniture.

Is this a real thing? Do people care?
Definitely not going to let this go to our heads.

I'm pretty proud of this one.
A simple project to be sure, but it was something new for us.
This is the first commission for which the forge was needed. Bending the railroad spikes s̶o̶ m̶u̶c̶h̶ f̶u̶n̶ so much work, but very rewarding.
The barnboard was salvaged a few years ago with the help of
The colours in it are amazing.

At first glance it may look like I've lost my mind and decided to resaw this 7" wide curly maple board entirely by hand.
Though my mind does tend to go astray more often than I care to admit, the truth is that I'm only sawing 3/4" out of the center of the board that the table saw could not reach.
Making some book matched panels for a built-in bar.

Our latest project is finally complete.
Queen size Murphy bed with side cabinets.
This one was a good challenge, not only because of the design but the hardware layout had to be done to the millimeter for everything to work properly.
I've come to realize that I'm not a massive fan of the metric system when it comes to fabrication.
It probably doesn't help that I only have one metric tape measure in the shop and I kept misplacing it...

The segmented curved moulding has been faired to it's straight counterparts.
A nice tidy fit, if I do say so myself.

Its now ready for a first coat of paint.

What do you do with an old busted Foosball table?
Turn it into a desk!
Our client had (almost) enough mahogany in their old game table to make a new desk. We had to add a couple pieces of maple to get the full width that they wanted.
One more thing saved from the dump!

After my attempt to steam-bend some kiln dried Spanish cedar failed in a most spectacular fashion it was on to Plan B.
A little fun with a compass and we have a segmented blank screwed to a plywood backing, ready to turn out on the lathe.
I don't see see how anything can go wrong with this.

One of my side quest these past few weeks has been a timber framed building for the forge. Most of the components are 6x6 pine beams with smaller timbers for the braces.
So far so good, only two sets of rafters left to install and then I can start closing it it.
I'm really looking forward to having a space for my hobby!
One Anni for scale.

Installed this neat little TV unit and floating shelves today
Angled walls add just the right amount challenge.
We use the floating shelf brackets. Really well made hardware and easy to use.
On to the next project.
