After learning about the existence of handspun yarn on the internet sparked a love and passion for creating unique and beautiful things out of wool and fibre, I unwittingly started on a journey into a soft and warm rabbit hole. Since initially teaching myself to spin yarn from scratch through videos online in 2008, I've:
• completed the Master Spinner Program at Olds College in 2017,
• went on
to teach the program,
• have been the recipient of grant funding through SKArts, Sask Lotteries, and Creative Saskatchewan, enabling me to work within schools and communities in the northwest corner of the province,
• and am currently delivering fine craft classes through USask Community Arts and Artisanship program. My personal art practice is ever evolving, though it seems my feet are firmly planted in the realm of fibre arts. Yarn, felt, fibre blending, dyeing, embroidery, maybe some weaving here or there, and really anything else I could possibly imagine to do with fibre or items made of fibre..... That's the stuff dreams are made of. Sharing in the experience of creating with our hands brings me joy. I hope it does the same for you! Always Happily Spinning,
