Thank you to everyone who bought brushes that I made the sale for my dog Luna. $2,000+ in vet bills added up in a hurry, and unfortunately not much else could be done for her.
On Monday April 20th, I had to make the heartbreaking choice to let my sweet Luna go. 💔
I’ve had Luna since she was just 5 weeks old, and for 10 unforgettable years she was by my side through every chapter of life. She wasn’t just my dog — she was my best friend, my shadow, and the kind of companion you only get once in a lifetime.
Luna loved going anywhere and everywhere with me. Whether it was hopping in the truck for a quick trip to get groceries, riding alongside the horses on the trail, weekends at cottages, or swimming in the quarry, she was always happiest just being there. If I was going, Luna was going too.
She loved being around the horses, especially the foals. She was so gentle with them, and the mares always trusted her. She had a calm, special way about her that animals seemed to understand.
So many people knew and loved her. Friends, family, our feed and storage customers, and even people I met on vacation who knew her through my stories and pictures. Everywhere she went, people would stop to admire her beautiful blue eyes and those unique markings that made her so special. She had a way of turning heads and stealing hearts without even trying.
It’s hard to put into words how empty things feel without her here. Ten years of hearing her footsteps, seeing her waiting by the door, and knowing she was always close by feels like a lifetime of memories now. Her best friend Bruce, who shared the last couple years with her, is going to miss snuggling up beside her, checking out the farm together, and protecting the farm by her side.
I hope she’s up there in the sunshine with my Opa, running free, feeling young again, and watching over us.
Forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. Rest easy, Luna. 💜
