We've officially hit the "it's spring and Julianna wants to spend every moment outside" season. Two solid days of working outside in the garden and yard was just what I needed, though every muscle in my body disagrees today! I think I've decided I need an outdoor office setup for the next 6 months.
In other news, I realized that I haven't formally introduced 2 of our 4 Spring goat babies!
Meet Auggie (August) and Pip (aka Pip-squeak). When we lost Gus late this winter, it hit hard. He really was the GOAT (in every sense of the word), and he left a space here that felt way too big. And then… along came Auggie.
Auggie is June and Gus’ little masterpiece. I really do mean masterpiece. He’s the kind of goat that somehow manages to be equal parts rugged farm dude and oversized baby and I'm OBSESSED. He spends his days doing very important “guy things” - wandering, observing, munching on snacks and existing with this super calm and quiet confidence ... then, without warning, tries to fold himself into your lap like a completely unaware, overgrown toddler. He's the very perfect combo of mom and dad though mom clearly won out in the looks department ... Auggie is the spitting image of Junie aside from getting Dad's floppy ears!
And then there’s Pip!
Another one of Gus' offspring, Pip is tiny, sweet, and absolutely determined. He is cute as a button and doing his very best to keep up with the big guys, even though his little legs have other plans. Every time they take off up the hill, I can’t help but hear, “wait for meeee! I have little legs!!!” Pip’s arrival into the world was… a lot. One of those moments where you realize that no amount of reading, researching, or watching vet (Dr. Oakley for the win, in this house) shows quite prepares you for real life ... but he made it here and we did it! His mom, Ivy, is doing beautifully and she has been an amazing momma so far. He’s completely infatuated with Auggie (his quite literal brother, from another mother) and wherever Auggie goes, Pip is never far behind. More pics of Pip to come!
Never a dull moment here and they definitely keep us well entertained! ❤️
