Lots of eggs headed to the farmstand tomorrow morning! (or tonight if you want to pop by, just let me know) I've been negligent in my egg collecting duties this weekend. 5 dozen chicken eggs ready to go and 2 dozen duck eggs!

We've officially hit the "it's spring and Julianna wants to spend every moment outside" season. Two solid days of working outside in the garden and yard was just what I needed, though every muscle in my body disagrees today! I think I've decided I need an outdoor office setup for the next 6 months.

In other news, I realized that I haven't formally introduced 2 of our 4 Spring goat babies!

Meet Auggie (August) and Pip (aka Pip-squeak). When we lost Gus late this winter, it hit hard. He really was the GOAT (in every sense of the word), and he left a space here that felt way too big. And then… along came Auggie.

Auggie is June and Gus’ little masterpiece. I really do mean masterpiece. He’s the kind of goat that somehow manages to be equal parts rugged farm dude and oversized baby and I'm OBSESSED. He spends his days doing very important “guy things” - wandering, observing, munching on snacks and existing with this super calm and quiet confidence ... then, without warning, tries to fold himself into your lap like a completely unaware, overgrown toddler. He's the very perfect combo of mom and dad though mom clearly won out in the looks department ... Auggie is the spitting image of Junie aside from getting Dad's floppy ears!

And then there’s Pip!

Another one of Gus' offspring, Pip is tiny, sweet, and absolutely determined. He is cute as a button and doing his very best to keep up with the big guys, even though his little legs have other plans. Every time they take off up the hill, I can’t help but hear, “wait for meeee! I have little legs!!!” Pip’s arrival into the world was… a lot. One of those moments where you realize that no amount of reading, researching, or watching vet (Dr. Oakley for the win, in this house) shows quite prepares you for real life ... but he made it here and we did it! His mom, Ivy, is doing beautifully and she has been an amazing momma so far. He’s completely infatuated with Auggie (his quite literal brother, from another mother) and wherever Auggie goes, Pip is never far behind. More pics of Pip to come!

Never a dull moment here and they definitely keep us well entertained! ❤️

We walked into the goat barn this morning and found this little guy waiting for us. He was dry, warm and on his feet already, happily relaxing with his momma, June.

After months of snow, frozen buckets, and ridiculously early sunsets, I can't help but get this feeling every single year. Spring is almost here! The countdown is on until I want to spend every waking moment outside again and I can't wait. ❤️🌷

Fresh and from the happiest cluckers around - this chicken tender was just lazy this weekend and has quite the collection! $5/dozen. 379 Meadowvale Rd., 5 minutes from Sobeys in Greenwood. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! I blinked and suddenly we’re speeding ahead into August! We’ve been soaking up just about every moment outside this summer, and I hope you’re having a wonderful one too.

Farm life is busier than ever here, and we’re loving it. From morning chores with the kids, milking Poppy the goat and Mabel the cow, collecting eggs, filling (and refilling!) water buckets, to running new fencing—there’s always something to keep us moving.

We’re also really enjoying everything happening with Raven House Learning. Our tutoring sessions and small-group classes have been a highlight this summer, and we’re already excited to start planning for fall. On Friday morning, we took advantage of the cooler weather to move our lessons outdoors. Students calculated feed quantities, worked through budgeting challenges, explored water volumes, measured pasture sizes and calculated fencing options, and recorded their observations about the animals and environment around them. It was so much fun!

It’s amazing to see how much learning happens when students can connect their lessons to real life and use their problem-solving skills in meaningful ways.

✨ We’d love to welcome more students this fall! If you’re curious about our tutoring or small-group programs, message us to learn more about how your child can join in. We have some really fun fall plans brewing!

One of the hardest things about a farming - at least for this tender-hearted gal! - is recognizing that you can't keep them all 💔 Puddle left for his new home yesterday. I know he will be incredibly well loved and I know how much he's going to love having his own girlfriend. If he's anything like his own daddy, Gus, he will make an amazing head dude in his own goat family. Happy travels my sweet little friend.

✨ New Arrival at Raven House ✨
Welcome to the world, baby Luna 🌙

While I stepped away for one hour, Mabel decided it was the perfect time to calve — and did so like a pro. Quick, calm, and all on her own. I came home to the sweetest surprise: a beautiful, smoky brown heifer with long lashes and curious eyes.

Luna is already living up to her name — gentle, dreamy, and pure magic magic. We can’t wait to see how she grows.

There’s always something special happening around here at Raven House — and today, it’s Luna. ♥️🐄
