This happening to our local artists- a reminder to support our talented artists now that the madman has slapped tariffs on ART(for god’s sake)

It's with a heavy heart that I write this. I always thought that original art was protected under the First Amendment in the Constitution of the United States under the Freedom of Expression Act. But the new 50% tariffs set to take affect August 19th on many Canadian goods this time around include art.

I've been creating and sharing my art with the world for 19 years. Through those years my business has taken many directions. I've met so many wonderful people and art collectors, some who've become friends. At this point in my career 90% of my sales are to American collectors. So I'll probably have to dust off my resume and find something else to do for a while to make ends meet.

To all my amazing collectors south of the border, if there's a painting you've had your eye on, please make your purchase before August 10th so I have time to prepare it for shipping before the tariffs come into effect on August 19th.

Thank you to everyone for following my journey. This is not good-bye, hopefully just a bump in the road. Wish me luck!

Attention Beachgoers
From mid April to August each year piping plovers and other migratory shorebirds return to Nova Scotia beaches. When you visit the beach this season, please respect wildlife and give them their space.

Here’s how you can help protect nesting coastal birds:
- Give the birds at least 100 m of space
- Avoid the upper dry sand areas and walk on the wet sand
- Always keep pets on leash at Provincial Parks and beaches
- Pack out your trash

Piping plovers and other shorebirds nest directly on open beaches. Their eggs and chicks are easy to miss and can be accidentally disturbed by people and pets. If you see a roped off area on a beach, please avoid the area to give the birds space to nest, feed, and rest.
