Jacques Gaudet

Jacques Gaudet (b. 1973, Quebec) is a multimedia artist maintaining a studio practice in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His material-driven work often results in abstract compositions that emphasize natural textures and reference geological formations through processes of erosion, repetition and accumulation in the studio. Through installations and individual works, Gaudet uses texture and unlikely materials to explore our personal and emotional connections with the natural world. Gaudet received a degree in Fine Arts from Emily Carr University in 1998, and has participated in exhibitions nationally in Vancouver, Halifax and Montreal.
