We love where we’re from, the Maritimes.

There’s just something about this place. The morning fog rolling over the harbour. Fishing boats heading out before sunrise. Weathered wharves, salt air and lighthouses standing watch.

It’s the sights, sounds, flavours and little details that make the Maritimes feel like home and our local makers have a beautiful way of capturing that feeling in what they create.

A little coastal. A little salty. A little rugged. And unmistakably Maritimish.

We ❤️ East Coast Makers: Maskwiomin

Rooted in Mi’kmaq traditional knowledge, Maskwiomin creates skincare inspired by the natural properties of birch bark.

The knowledge behind this traditional Mi’kmaq skincare was nearly lost, but Mi’kmaq Elder and ethnobotanist Tuma Young helped rediscover and preserve the traditional method of extracting birch bark’s compounds.

Today, Maskwiomin brings this knowledge forward through thoughtfully made creams, lotions and soaps.

We’re so happy to have Maskwiomin joining us at Christmas at the Forum!
