New/old stock. 9 leather German greatcoat straps in an original bundle. A couple are dated 1933, so very early pieces. I will be selling them as a group of 9 for $405. I don’t have the heart to break them up. They measure 54 cm in length each. The same as Second War straps. There are also 14 holes each. Scarce survivors.

I also dragged this back the other day! I think it is a great piece. A reservists pipe! But it’s complete! The porcelain bit is named to Gefreiter Diehl of the Hessian Infantry Regiment 117, from Mainz. List of soldiers in his company is on the reverse. Just a great thing. There is a little damage to the bow at the bottom. I love that there is a little clock integrated into the shaft. You know for when you are hanging with your soldier buddies but you have to keep an eye on the time. Lol.

A beautiful day yesterday morning in Vienna. Great day for a trip to the Kettenbrückengasse flea market. It was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Heavy on bohemian glass and paintings, I did nonetheless find a couple of nice German First War postcards. One is an identified unit from Dresden and the other a German mountain trooper. One can clearly see the edelweiss in between the cockades. Maybe only a small detail but still rather exciting for us history nerds.
