Did you know that the Sackville Farmers’ Market NS and Acadia Park and Recreation is 100% volunteer run? ❤️‍🩹

We are always looking for more volunteers for our Saturday market, especially with set-up and tear down.

All ages and abilities are welcome. There is a role for everyone.

Some of our market roles consist of…

🌭 Helping with our BBQ/Canteen (grilling, taking payment, assisting customers)

🍅 Working the market table (selling market merchandise, market bucks, etc. and assisting customers)

🎪 Market Set-up (setting up pop-up tents, tables, and chairs in the morning before the market starts) **some heavy lifting required**

📦 Market Teardown (taking down pop-up tents, packing up market table/chairs at the end of the day) **some heavy lifting required. this is our most needed role**

💐 Gardening (planting, weeding, and keeping our beautiful public gardens in good order)

Each roles is flexible, you get to schedule your volunteering!

Sometimes I'll make thumbnails, which are little test drawings to try out composition and value, especially when taking various elements together.
Sometimes there's a strong vision in my head, and sometimes it takes a while to make the design work.

Coming up in less than two weeks is my Intro to Embroidery class with Stitch & Knit Dartmouth !
In this class we cover all the basics to set up for embroidery, and learn the most common stitches. And as a fun project, students get to design and make their own brooches!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL BOOK BONANZA → SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH 🚌🍂📒

We’re hosting a Back-to-School Book Bonanza! Join us in the park with amazing local authors, grab all your lunch making necessities, and soak up the last little bit before school starts again!

We’re filling Acadia Park with 35+ local makers, bakers, farmers, and non-profit organizations! We have different (new and returning) vendors each week.

Shop a wide variety of items, including fresh produce, local meat, baked goods, flowers, prepared food, clothing, crochet items, artwork, alcoholic beverages, jewelry, bath & body goods, pet products, and more!
