Meet Gladys

With a strong agricultural background and a genuine passion for people and community, Gladys brings years of experience, knowledge, and a friendly smile to her work.

Born in the Sussex area of New Brunswick and raised on a dairy farm, agriculture has always been an important part of Gladys’ life. She spent 22 years working on a dairy farm in Alton before retiring in 2022. Her experience in agriculture has given her a deep appreciation for the farming community and the people who make it such an important part of our local way of life.

Gladys truly enjoys working with people, getting to know customers, and building connections within the community. She also enjoys learning new things and has embraced many opportunities to expand her knowledge over the years. This year, she even stepped outside her comfort zone by holding a chicken and a meat chick—quite an accomplishment for someone who spent years avoiding chickens because she didn’t like them!

Gladys has also enjoyed getting involved in agricultural education and community events, including organizing a chicken information session with Dr. Andrew Greene from High Tides Veterinary Services.

Outside of work, Gladys enjoys baking, knitting, spending time with family and friends, and staying active with her Zumba class. She is a proud mom of three and grandmother to eight grandchildren.

With her agricultural roots, love of people, and commitment to the community, Gladys is always happy to lend a helping hand, share what she knows, and learn something new along the way.

🌱 What does agriculture mean to you? 🌱

For us, it means community, hard work, and putting food on our tables.

At The Corridor Country Store, we’re proud to support the farmers and agricultural community that work tirelessly to feed our families and keep our communities growing. No farmers, no food. 🚜🌾

Our local farmers are not only an essential part of our community — they are also some of our biggest supporters. We are incredibly grateful for the trust they place in us and for the opportunity to serve them every day.

Agriculture is more than an industry. It’s a way of life, a community, and a connection between the people who grow our food and the families who enjoy it.

💚 Today, we’re proud to celebrate agriculture and the farmers who make it all possible.

We’d love to hear from you — what does agriculture mean to you? 🌱
