After creating the invitations and stationery for their own wedding in 2001, and receiving many requests from friends and friends of friends to create invitations for their weddings and special gatherings, Quills was born. First, it was meetings with brides at the closest donut shop, then a store front in beautiful Westdale, (Hamilton Ontario Canada), until 2006, then an opportunity to move Quills
into the Coach House of historic Rock Castle - a gorgeous 1848 stone mansion overlooking the great city of Hamilton. With a growing demand for our retail items, handmade gifts and workshops Quills moved in February 2015 to a new larger and accessable space above Starbucks on Trendy Locke Street in Hamilton. The specialized work of Quills has been featured in Wedding Chicks , Wedding Bells, The Hamilton Spectator and House Beautiful Magazine. A love of paper and stationery has evolved Quills into a unique shop that sells handcrafted gifts and stationery items made using Chiyogami, a handmade screen printed Japanese paper, as well as calligraphy tools, inks and notebooks. Now Quills sells their homespun collection of gifts in awesome gift shops, the best bookstores, and on the road - at art and craft shows around Ontario.
