Friday was calzone day for our friends on the street.
We have been blessed with a donation of nearly 600 frozen calzones.
Needless to say, they were a big hit. Along with the calzones we had snacks, water and for a few that didn't want a calzone, we had egg salad sandwiches. We hadn't done egg salad before, however, we will definitely be doing them again.
We are so blessed and thankful to the folks that donate to us. There is no way we could afford to buy calzones, however, a donor made this possible
All praise to Jesus !!
Thank you for helping us help others

As always we thank you for your support

Wednesday was a special day for us. Our daughter and grand daughters came along to help feed and spread the love to our street friends. They did an amazing job handing out sandwiches, snacks, water and for something a little different, hard boiled eggs.
There was lots of smiles from our street friends seeing the kids out helping. We will do it again soon.
Have a fantastic weekend!!

As always, we appreciate your support

It has been a month since we posted. Too busy or too lazy?!? Well, we have been busy during the day and too lazy at night to post, so a bit of both.
We are out on the streets at least a couple times a week with breakfast sandwiches, hot meals, cold meals, sandwiches, cake, fruit, chips, cookies, yogurt, milk, juice, water and things I just can't even remember. The past month has been busy on the streets with our friends
A little story of how things can go full circle.
I will not use people's real names for privacy purposes.
We met Bob the spring of 2023. Bob was such a great guy that had been on the streets for quite a while, but did he ever know the Bible. Scripture after scripture he could recite. We ran into Bob almost everytime we were on the streets. He became a friend and he opened many doors for us with others
One day , late spring of 24, we were driving down a side street and seen Bob with another guy. We stopped to see Bob. The guy that was with him was not very receptive to us. It was the first time meeting him. After a bit, Bob leaned over and whispered something in Darren's ear. Darren started to talk. Earlier that day, Darren had overdosed and had to have 17 shots of Narcan.
Darren began telling Joanne about his life as she sat beside him on the ground. Darren had a really hard childhood, he ended up on the streets at an early age. He is now in his late 20s.
July 2024, Bob passed away. A couple weeks later we ran into Darren and he came right over to ask us if we knew of Bobs passing. We told him that we had. After a brief conversation, Darren asked us if we wanted to know what Bob had whispered to him on the first day that we met him. Bob whispered, "They are good people, you can trust them".
Everytime we see Darren on the streets, he comes running. We always give him a hug and he always tells us he loves us. He is a special young man.
A couple weeks ago, Jeff ran into Darren. He was with someone that we had never met before. Darren got up and headed to the car but the other guy didn't move. Darren stopped, went back and said something to the other guy. The other guy, Troy, got up and came to the car. We all talked for a bit then Darren went and sat back down to eat his food that he had gotten from us. Jeff talked to Troy for a bit then Troy mentioned that he usually doesn't take food from people he doesn't know. He told me he wasn't going to come to the car but Darren told him, "I know him, he is safe and you can trust him". The same thing Bob had told Darren almost two years ago. As I was pulling away it hit me what Darren had said to Troy. I had to pull over and have a little cry, I really miss Bob, he was an amazing guy.
I have met up with Troy a couple times since meeting him. He is quite the character. Really funny and so friendly.
Sorry for the long post. While being out on the streets for almost three years,we have a lot of stories and we have met people that we truly love and care for. Darren is definitely one of them
Thank you Jesus all glory goes to you

Thank you to everyone who donates. Today's breakfast for our friends on the street was completely sponsored.
Today's breakfast included bacon and egg burgers, Philly cheesesteak and egg burgers , juice and snacks.
It seems every time that we have been out lately, we are blessed to run into someone we haven't seen in a while. Today it was Joseph.
Joseph is one of the earliest people that we connected with when we first went on the streets two and a half years ago. We connected with him over lasagna. We had stopped him one day and asked him if he would like some lasagna. Turns out he hadn't had lasagna for years since his mom passed away. A simple piece of lasagna was the beginning of a friendship.
It was so good to see him today. We had a few laughs and he was on his way.
Thank you Jesus for allowing us to see him.
We want to thank the folks who continue to donate and support . Your generosity helps us help others
