I’ve lived through the vinyl, cassette, CD, MP3 eras, and more recently I joined the high resolution music on TIDAL.
I can’t explain why but Pearl Jam’s new album Dark Matter made me miss the old days when I used to listen to albums while admiring the booklets that used to come with them.
There’s a long time I didn’t enjoy to listen to a new album repeatedly like I’m listening to Dark Matter.

Yesterday was time to create some coffee cups, once again, amateur radio themed.

I’m still testing the best power/speed settings. What settings do you guys use when engraving ceramic cups like this?

I’ve just finished the first version of this box for my digital radio hotspot. I used scraps of black acrylic from xTool.
Positioning the holes on the back for the connectors gave me a hard time.

Beside my enthusiasm for laser craft, I am also a radio amateur operator and this is the first prototype of a callsign stand that I made. It is a beautiful piece of decoration for our radio shacks that reflects our passion for this amazing hobby. 📻

I used a pre-cut piece of acrylic on top of a base with LED lights to create this stand. Next time, I will cut the acrylic myself to make it more precise and fit better. 🔪

The silhouette on the stand is our beloved city of Montreal. ❤️

The coordinates at the bottom show my QTH, which means my radio station location in amateur radio terms. 🌎

To make this stand, I used:

Clear acrylic
LED light base
And as equipment, I used:

Xtool P2 CO2 Laser
