It’s been an early Winter this season with daily snowfall! We have never seen Deer walk the ice so early yet they seem to know when it’s safe! They are herding now and very hungry….they scratch at the ground for organic matter and feed off the tree limbs.

Spiders have never been my favourite yet this Ukraine story is no less than Charming! ♥️

In the quiet villages of Ukraine, long before modern tinsel, Christmas trees were decorated with care, filled with simple fruits, nuts, and candles. But a legend tells of a poor family whose tree stood bare, the children’s hopes dimmed by lack of decoration. That night, as they slept, a humble spider crept through the room. Silently, she spun delicate webs across the branches, weaving shimmering threads that caught the candlelight.

When morning came, the family awoke to find the tree sparkling as if dusted with frost and silver. The children laughed with delight, and the parents marveled at the small, hidden magic that had transformed their modest tree. From that day forward, families began to adorn their trees with strands of silver — a reminder of unseen blessings, of humble gifts turned radiant, and of the magic that works quietly in the dark of winter.

In folklore, spiders are threshold creatures, often associated with the unseen realms. They remind us that creativity, patience, and quiet diligence can turn ordinary life into wonder. The tiny webs reflect the sun, moon, and candlelight — just as the midwinter season is a time to notice how even small sparks of light can pierce the longest nights.

This Ukrainian tale also carries a subtle teaching: the ordinary and the miraculous are never far apart. A spider, a creature often overlooked, brings beauty, joy, and protection into the home — just as the winter months, when the world seems still and cold, carry hidden gifts for those who notice.

Reflection:
Where in your life might quiet magic be weaving unnoticed?
What ordinary moments or creatures carry extraordinary gifts if you take the time to see them?
How can your own hands and heart bring light and wonder into the lives around you this winter?

As the tree glimmers, remember the spider’s gift: patience, care, and the enchantment of small, unexpected miracles — the threads of silver that hold the season together.

Every so often I receive a note from a Customer who spent time with me at a Christmas Show! This particular person and his wife stopped by my Booth a few weeks ago where he spotted one of my handcrafted Wizard Gnomes and Art Cards. His email to me was heartfelt and genuine! Thankyou so much!!!

Brooke.....I enjoyed chatting with you and your husband at the Canadian Boat Racing Museum and obviously, I enjoyed your creative, unique and playful cards & gnomes!
We have a glass plant hanger which wasn't being used and I thought it would be an ideal home for my special gnome! It is now hanging in our home between our kitchen and dining room.
My gnome tells me that after adjusting to being so visible "in his glass house," he is now feeling quite at home and has a great view of all who come and go. Nothing misses his attention.
Wishing you great success and much fulfillment with your artistic endeavors.
