A little look at our Thamesford project, all wrapped up.

Several weeks ago, we handed this space back to our clients and said goodbye to a project that had become part of our everyday for quite a while.

At the heart of it is their new primary suite; a bedroom, walk-in closet and bath designed to give them a little more space to retreat, unwind and call their own.

The lovely Unbranded Social helped us capture a few snaps on our way out the door, so we’ll be sharing some of the spaces and details with you over the next little while.

From design concept to real life… a little look at how this one is coming together.

If you haven’t seen this project yet, we’re building this primary ensuite entirely from the ground up—a brand new space designed to feel old-world, traditional and warm, with just enough depth and moodiness to feel almost candlelit.

The vision is rooted in traditional materials, with character coming through the details—profiles, edges, curves and thoughtful transitions that bring softness and a little romance to the everyday.

Renderings helped us bring that vision into focus while working through the realities of a new space—cabinetry layouts, walkways, scale and proportion, along with creatively concealing plumbing and navigating changing ceiling heights.

For the finishes, it’s less about one hero material and more about the layers to come. Creams, blues, greys and browns, unexpected pairings, subtle texture and moments of bold veining will continue to add depth as the room takes shape.

And now we’re getting to the really good part. The vanity is in, the linen tower is underway, and we’re starting to see glimpses of what we’ve been imagining for months; with stone, plumbing fixtures and plenty of finishing details still to come.

It’s not finished yet, but watching a space go from an idea on a screen to something we can actually stand inside might just be the best part! 🤎

Home is so much more than flooring, cabinetry, and finish selections.

It’s where that first cup of coffee is enjoyed as the morning light pours into the kitchen. Where friends and family gather around the table and conversations linger. Where we settle in at the end of the day with a good book, a favourite show, or simply a quiet moment.

The spaces we live in have the ability to shape how we feel & to bring a sense of warmth, ease, and calm to our everyday routines.

That’s why we believe a home shouldn’t be designed around what’s trending. It should be designed around how you live, what you love, and how you want your home to feel.

It’s a philosophy that sits at the heart of Lagom: creating spaces that feel considered, personal, and uniquely yours.

And just like that, we blinked and we’re already heading into the second week of August.

It’s been a full summer, with lots on the go behind the scenes, and we’re so grateful for every bit of it. Lots of exciting projects taking shape, designs coming together, and plenty more to share as we head into the second half of summer!

The messages that make it all worth it.

There are a lot of hours behind every project. Floor plans, revisions, site visits, sourcing materials, answering questions, and working through all the little details.

Then a message like one of these shows up.

“We love it!”
“This is exactly what we were envisioning.”
“We’re so excited.”

And suddenly all those hours feel completely worth it.

Whether it’s after a design presentation or once the dust has settled and the project is complete, these messages never get old.

Welcome to Project Fiddlers 🤎

One thing you’ll quickly learn about us is that we love designing bathrooms.
Not because of the tile or fixtures, but because a well-designed bathroom can completely change how a home functions.

For this Jack & Jill bathroom, we focused on making better use of the space we already had. The layout was reworked, doors were moved, the shower was expanded, storage was improved, and every material was selected to contribute to a calm, modern, organic feel.

A lot of thoughtful decisions packed into one relatively small footprint.

One of my favourite parts of the design process is layering materials.

For this ensuite, we’re mixing multiple tile selections that each bring something different to the space. On their own they’re beautiful. Together, they create a bathroom that feels far more intentional than any single tile could achieve.

Every project begins with questions.

How should the home function five years from now?
Which spaces no longer serve the family?
Where can we create more calm, flow and purpose within the existing footprint?

For this project, the first phase focused entirely on layout and functionality. Reworking how the primary suite connects and flows together before a single finish is selected.

A former bedroom is being transformed into a walk-in closet as the family’s needs evolve. Existing closets are being removed to create a more open and intentional primary bedroom layout. The bathroom footprint is expanding to allow for a completely reimagined layout.

These early decisions may not be the most visually exciting part of a renovation, but they often shape your home the most.
