Was called to remove this temporary helical pile foundation that was installed by a competitor.
A few things I noticed.
- the pile cap was sitting loosely on the pile with no uplift protection
- the piles were only installed to a depth of 36”. In Southern Ontario, a minimum of 48” to the top of the helix is needed for frost protection
- the helical pile shaft had visible signs of rust indicating the poor quality of galvanization

When selecting your don’t select based on the lowest cost. Be sure that the helical pile is meeting the installation requirements stated by the engineer.
