It was a bit shocking to come out of my yoga class tonight at 9 pm and it was dark outside! Is it just me or has summer been in warp speed?
Thankfully I’ve been having some fun, mix in with work so it’s been a balancing act trying to stay on top, of the work part just to be clear. Had some sister fun at Martha Creek Campground north of Revelstoke. Spent a week in smokey conditions which definitely wasn’t great when you’re living outside and sleeping in a tent. Luckily, we had paddle boards and were able to enjoy the water.
Took a drive to see the Mica dam and Kinbaskit Lake. Had no idea how huge the Mica dam was or how huge Kinbaskit Lake is.
On the drive we discovered Cairnes Creek so the next day we loaded up the boards and put in at Cairnes Creek campsite & paddles up as far as we could. The water was such a beautiful colour.
2nd last day the smoke lifted so we drove to Revelstoke national park and hikes the Meadows in the Sky to Eva Lake.
My sisters left for Alberta and since the skies were finally clear I drove to Glacier National Park for 2 days and hikes the Abbot and Asulcan Valley trail up to the Asulcan Hut and glacier. Definitely need to stay in that hut one day, see the photos below and you will see why.

People often ask me what I do with all the little stick I pick up when I’m out hiking. My answer is quite simple. I don’t know until it happens but when it does happen then I need those sticks at my house, right!
