My Story

If you would have told me a few years ago I’d be a small business owner, I would have laughed out loud ! Being the mom of a beautiful competitive equestrian, has made me recognize my love for horses, hence I have gained the courage to start horseback riding as my pleasure sport. I am the fur baby mama to two wonderful doodles, the wife of a perfect for me man, who takes on my endeavours with me, and a full time health care professional.

I am forever thankful, appreciative and proud to carry theses titles, even if they give me little time to spend on my passion for wood. Looking back, I realize I have a always loved the smell of wood, the way it feels after it’s freshly sanded, its versatility and how good it feels to turn a plain piece of raw wood into something of beauty.

A few years ago, I asked my husband for a special cutting machine for Christmas, I had no idea how it worked but I was willing to take the time to get to know it so I could make unique, personalized greeting cards and MAYBEeeeeee some wood signs. While researching then overthinking then researching again how to use my new machine, I was confronted with intimidation so it sat, in the box for 6 months.

As a means to face and push through this intimidation, I offered to make a personalized wood sign as a wedding gift for a friends. This commitment came with a deadline, which meant the intimidation had to be pushed aside and I needed to be productive. I was pleased with the product I made and my friend was ecstatic. She immediately said “you need to take photos and advertise this, this is what people want!” so I followed her advice and here I am, the proud owner of BrambleWOOD deSIGNS.
