Grandmas and their classic recipes, cozy homes, and collected heirlooms have long been a key source of inspiration, but a new family member has sauntered into the aspirational spotlight: Auntie. She’s bold. She’s unapologetic. She’s unabashedly quirky. And everyone—whether minimalist extraordinaire or Scandi enthusiast—can learn something from her aesthetic sensibilities. At the link below, interior designers help us unfurl the “eccentric aunt” home design trend and share some takeaways we can all use. ⬇️

Another “Fabulous Find Fridays” with Vintage Rutherford’s “Spirit of Scotland” Miniature Whisky Book Decanters – Set of 5📚✨
Such a fun little piece of Scottish whisky history!

Fabulous Find Friday 🦆✨

Continuing our series with a pair of vintage ceramic ducks, charming pieces inspired by the long tradition of decorative waterfowl in the home. Duck and game-bird décor became especially popular throughout the mid-20th century, bringing a touch of the English countryside and sporting life indoors. Today, pieces like these have found their way back into beautifully layered interiors, adding character, history and just the right amount of whimsy.

One of our favourite things about sourcing vintage is finding pieces that have already lived a life and giving them a chance to become part of someone else’s home.

And a little reminder: our Fabulous Find Friday pieces aren’t just for admiring! If something from the series catches your eye, it’s available for purchase at the Dove Home Interiors studio.

Stay tuned for next Friday’s find 🤍

Fabulous Finds Friday… on a Saturday 🤭

This week’s find is a true treasure for the collectors. ✨

A rare Royal Doulton Dickens Character Miniature Bust (Mould No. 6109), believed to date somewhere between the 1930s–1950s. While the exact catalogue identification is still being researched, it’s thought to depict Sam Weller from Charles Dickens’ The Pickwick Papers.

Pieces like this are what make thrifting, antiquing, and estate hunting so exciting—the history, the mystery, and the stories waiting to be uncovered. 🤍
