The Otter, so much more than an adorable fuzzy floating mammal.

Their role as a keystone species involves several critical ecological functions:

Controlling Grazers: Sea otters eat huge amounts of sea urchins and other shellfish. Without otters, sea urchin populations can explode and overgraze, destroying entire kelp forests by eating the kelp at its base.

Protecting Kelp Forests: By keeping urchin numbers in check, sea otters allow kelp forests to thrive. In turn, these underwater forests provide vital food and shelter for hundreds of other marine animals, including fish, birds, and invertebrates.

The Alzheimer's Society is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. This year I have joined the committee for the Kelowna Walk For Alzheimer's to help raise funds that help support families in need.

We are going to have silent auction on the day of the walk and I am looking for local artisans who would like to donate an item to this cause.

If this is a cause you would like to support, please message me and we can discuss details!

If you are unable to donate a product, my donation page is in my bio links, you can donate there. If you are unable to donate product or funds, showing up for the walk on May 31 is another great way to show support and help raise awareness!
