Be gently led into the calming, ethereal presence of Alisa Farr and Cameron Hayward's Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls which vibrate to balance and detoxify the body’s energy, help release emotional trauma, calm anxiety, increase sleep quality and connection to self, while guiding us into a state of wholeness and light that has a magical ripple effect of healing in our community.

100% of Ticket Sales are being donated to 'Rebel with a Cause' to facilitate a series of inspirational art meditation workshops for Karis Support Society - a non-profit organization that provides recovery-focused counselling, housing, support and programming resources for women in our community who are struggling.

We are raffling off a divinely-inspired talisman mala necklace. Created by Alisa Farr for her Embody Malas collection, this piece contains 131 semiprecious stones, metals and crystals. ‘Speak’ came to life and is intended for the courageous woman who speaks her truth and in the process, heals herself. This talisman is a reminder of inner strength, empowerment and the ability for one’s voice to free their soul. Created with Divine intention, deep ritual and activation, the energy this mala carries is very powerful.

Curating and installing photowalls creates such an immediate sense of gratification for my clients and I! They can make a new home instantly feel grounded and inspiring. They can remind us of how far we’ve come, what matters most, and of our best memories with family and friends. They give us perspective on our journeys, our past and our potentials. They evolve, grow with us, and ultimately bring us back to center during our stressful lives. There is a science to creating these pieces of art - they aren’t easy and they take a lot of emotion and intention. I love providing this small gift to my clients in their sacred spaces.

Our showcase event ‘Crystalline’ in support of Aaron K Metz was magical! It was special to see so many beautiful souls supporting Aaron’s art and investing in original, crystal-infused work by this amazing local artist. Through curating this experience for our friends and clients - we met the most inspiring, heart-led people who helped make the evening as unique and uplifting as it was. If you would still like to purchase a piece of Aaron’s art (values of $85 - $18,500) but were unable to attend our private showcase - special Rock House Style pricing will remain in effect until August 15th. Very rarely do we build, renovate or decorate a personal residence without incorporating a family ‘wall of fame’ photowall. These special collections of photographs always make a house feel like a home (it’s one of the first things we do if a client has moved into a new space and has anxiety about the property not yet feeling comfortable or personalized) and more often than not, we get an overwhelmed-with-emotion reaction when we install these walls for our clients (cue: happy tears!). We all have photographs from our childhood, our travels, old black and whites passed down from our family, and current photos filling up our smartphones – but it’s hard to know where to begin putting together a medley of images, in one collection, displayed in a creative and beautiful gallery wall. While they often look casual and haphazardly-placed, there is a science to creating a harmonious photowall. The secret is finding the perfect balance between frame styles, photography and spacing.

A sneak peek into one of my favourite recent renovation design projects. Photo by my amazing friend: Jenn Beal

With all the craziness happening in our world... in our market... in our daily lives... I periodically feel like posting about my design and art work seems trivial and frivolous. And then I am reminded of the soul-level impact our homes have on our moods, health and relationships.

Beauty and style are not superficial concepts, they are direct reflections our "interior" design (ie: how we feel on the inside). We cannot control the government, or the news, or the sh*tty things people do "out there"- but we can control how our homes- the homes we all have the power to create for ourselves and our loved ones- make us feel, and thrive.

I feel lucky to be welcomed into so many different individuals lives, with that power to help elevate their personal sanctuary's. To help them create beautiful and interesting spaces that speak to their hearts, inspire their minds, and support them in being the best version of themselves. Design is an intimate process; one where the designer becomes an expert on how a client lives, what they cherish most, and how many pairs of underwear are in their closet drawers. We have to evaluate so many things to get it right, to ensure a home speaks to that person, fits their lifestyle, and lifts them up. It's a challenging but immensely rewarding career that demands I constantly balance my business mind with my creative one.

Here's to the well-rounded spaces out there, the ones that you walk into and just instantly feel at peace, the ones with purposeful details that take your breath away. It's not about spending a zillion dollars, or creating perfect rooms where everything matches and the decor is neutral enough to please everyone ; it's about creating rooms with soul, with patina and with character so that they tell a story and make you feel something. When design matters and you fill your home with colors, textures, things, and people you love- it becomes a living canvas; an ever-evolving curation of your life.
