Once when Kale and Oliver were younger and obsessed with a certain wizard series that rhymes with Flairy Plotter, we put on a huge dinner in Next Church modelled after the great hall. It was a love letter to them then, this is my love letter now. I know my spooky kid is delighting in yet another fancy dinner catered to his interests. I promise I won’t play Elton John all night.

Thank you Aviva Jacob for helping me bring this vision to life.
Thank you to Mara June for the education in grief work-and for the witchy, shape shifting, magical, transformative offerings this past year and a half-that have taught me about grief tending, ritual, community care, revolution, and herbs and flowers that invite me to commune with nature in my sadness. I now know what it feels like to be held.

To Megan Hamilton ⚡️Speaking & Visibility for your mentorship on being in front of the camera, just doing it imperfectly, public speaking and confidence-which has allowed me the freedom to create without keeping it to myself because I hate the way I look. 🫠 The world needs what I have to say.

A vulnerable retelling of where this idea came from. When Oliver and Kale were little, and obsessed with a certain wizard series, we did a whole dinner like the Great Hall as a love letter to them. This is another love letter to them.

B.Y.O.D (Bring your own dead person) a campy movie explanation. I did a lot of weird things in a public park for this video, so I hope you love it.

Thank you to my cool friend for helping me make this silly cinematic masterpiece.

I’m so excited for all the magical details coming together for my (our) death themed event.
A love letter to our dearly departed. A chance to intentionally turn towards our grief and transmute it to community, and connection and love. Sumptuous comforting food, a hot beverage bar, a bonfire, a spooky beautiful barn on an island.
Thank you Alix Carr-Harris for the use of your beautiful space.
Thank you to Abby Nowakowski for the art work
Thank you Aviva Jacob for the photos and for helping me tell the story.
Thank you to Maureen & Green for the event florals and service-knowing you’re on the team means everyone will get the literal best service in Kingston.
Thank you Slowcraft Farm for the hand crafted magic for the take home gifts.
Thank you Mara June for the mentorship, wisdom, knowledge and love you’ve passed on through our almost 2 years of working together. And your class Easing the Passage for giving me the skills and audacity to call myself a grief worker. Thank you to my classmates for your support and enthusiasm in making this happen.
Thank you to Radford J Cowan for walking beside me in grief, life and business in the most real way.
And finally, thank you to Kale. I know you know this is a love letter to you, my spooky kid. How fun that we get to do this together. Very rude of you to make me do this without your actual human body, but it is one way to get out of dishes I guess. None of this would exist without your loss, and I thank you for your guidance, your love and your freaky bright spirit that shines so bright from the other side I have no choice but to tell people about it.

Hey babes! Where the heck have we been? Here! Making friends, crying, hugging, travelling, resting, adventuring, a little bit of cooking, loving our community and doing weird s**t. Hope you’re having fun and eating well ❤️🌈.
