It’s here! It’s been over 2 years since I lost him. How?? I miss my friend, my love, my life.
But we put on our shoes and carry on.

This ring has been in the works for a while. The black diamond was made with some of Tom’s ashes by the amazing team at Eternva and then the very talented Jessica Wharram of Wharram’s Jewellers in Leamington used my engagement and wedding band and added more ashes to this amazing design that was in my head.

Now Tom can come on some new adventures with me.

Is it time to for you to learn to knit? We have an absolute beginner knit class this Saturday, February 21st 10:30-12:30. There is still space for you and a friend. Cause it’s always more fun to do things with a friend.
The class fee includes your materials to get started. All the information is on the website

Sometimes we knit. Sometimes we just fix it. This lovely mess was artfully (and very quickly) done by the oh so innocent looking Nancy Drew!
Knitting or Crochet helps to teach us patience so maybe Nancy was just trying to help me? If you’re ready to learn to knit or crochet this is the month for you! We have a Beginner Knit & a Beginner Crochet class coming up.

Say hi to Tara! Tara has been running both her shop (The Bendig Company) and my shop since last Thursday. She has been amazing and I so appreciate her helping. I’ve been down with the flu and I am SO bored!!
I thought today would be the day I can get back but nope - not yet! We’ve always been very careful about trying not to share nasty germs. So many of us knit or crochet for family that are ill or compromised and we don’t want to make it worse. So here I am with my furry nurses!

And today the Re:Designed bags from Denmark should be delivered. I am so excited about these bags. Yes they are spendy but what a beautiful investment!! A couple very enabling friends talked me into buying myself one last Fall and I LOVE it!!
They are all on the website and I will be adding actual numbers as soon as the order is in the shop. I might have ordered a few extra for me …sshhh

So pop in, say hi to Tara (and bring a donation for the food bank and get a 20% discount in her shop) and I will be here under the dog blanket working on my Joinery top in Coast and pondering what colour of the new SandnesGarn Line (due next week)to make either Shaina or Agave by Yumiko Alexander.

I LOVE handknit mitts and fingerless mitts! Here are just some pictures of some of my mitts that I have worn the last few days.
If you have never knit mittens - why not?? Some people are afraid of the thumb gusset and compromise with other ways of doing thumbs. But a proper gusset fits my hand properly.
And we have a solution! Join us on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6:30-9:30 for a zoom class with Kate Atherley. No need to go out in the dark and cold and snow, stay home where it’s warm and cozy and let’s make mitts!!

This class version of Gnoah from the Gno Fun Like Gnome Fun pattern is a great place to jump into the world of gnomedom.
This is the workshop version of Gnoah. During the workshop you will receive a code for the full Gno Fun Like Gnome Fun pattern. This will give you the Gnoah, Gnaomi, and Gnibblet patterns with details for both worsted and fi*****ng weight versions.

Learn the basics of Sarah’s gnome patterns with Gnoah. Cute, sweet, simple, and fast to knit, he’ll give you confidence to tackle other gnomes and toys. Knit on worsted weight yarn using your choice of knitting in the round methods.

Fundamentals of gnomes/toys including i-cord, stuffing, changing colour, sewing pieces, dealing with ends.

If you pop into to shop this week you might be a little confused. Tara (daughter and owner of The Bendig Company) will be sitting in my usual spot at the counter to help you.
I am off for some adventures this week in Ottawa & Orillia and Tara is looking after both shops. Be kind - she is very helpful - unless you ask a knitting question. But joy of technology is I’m at the other end of the phone.
As always while I’m away something is on special and this week Nov 4-10 the Mode at Rowan yarns are all 30% off online and in store. Orders will be shipped Tuesday when I’m back.
