Pudina Chutney

Ingredients

* 2 tbsp channa dal
* 1 tbsp urad dal
* 3–5 dry red chilies
* 1 cup pudina (mint) leaves
* ½ cup coriander leaves
* Small piece tamarind
* 2–3 tbsp fresh coconut
* Salt to taste
* Little water for grinding

Method

1. Dry roast channa dal and urad dal until golden.
2. Add red chilies and roast briefly.
3. Add pudina and coriander leaves; sauté until slightly wilted.
4. Cool the mixture completely.
5. Add tamarind, coconut, and salt.
6. Grind with a little water to desired consistency.

Optional:

* Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, and hing for extra flavor.

Great with idli, dosa, rice, or sandwiches.
