Nothing too glamorous but my workshop has been busy! Finished painting all the interior doors for my client...these were the final 6 closet doors, whoohoo! Taking a break now but will be back to work mid October 🙃 although I'll also (hopefully) be swamped with cataloguing auction items! No rest for the wicked I guess 😀

This beautiful MCM console/buffet belongs to my MIL & has been serving as her TV stand in her new home. She decided it was looking a titch tired, so I completely stripped it down to uncover that gorgeous walnut veneer! Way too nice to cover up with stain, I opted to use a simple hardwax oil finish to enrich & protect while showcasing the natural wood! Minor repairs typical for a piece of this age were done, the insides of the cupboard & drawers were given a nourishing beeswax & h**p oil wax, and finally, the hardware was cleaned up & oiled. I also added some vinyl gliders to the legs to protect them & the floor.

I love love love MCM pieces, & this one did not disappoint.

This vintage solid wood quaility china cabinet hutch has been given an update & repurpose! Fully reFURbished in a trendy new colour with added pops of copper in the new legs & k***s, it is now a modern neutral display curio! I envision it in a living room display treasures, books & games, or as a stunning entryway console! The mirrors on the back have been covered with a nature inspired wallpaper that is removable should the mirrors be preferred in your space.

This vintage little handcrafted piece has been given a fun little facelift as it was starting to look a bit tired. I was given full creative freedom, asked only to pick something that will look nice on peach walls. It will now be a happy little pop of colour, serving as a safe haven for the household keys, as well as a handy message centre!

Solid pine dresser & nightstand ~ SOLD

This pretty set was in good shape, just requiring squaring up & a drawer repair. Both pieces are constructed of solid wood & have been properly prepped & refinished in a quality furniture paint with 2 coats of poly for added durability! Drawers are smooth & I've added vinyl gliders to protect all types of flooring.

I can see this pretty set in a little girls bedroom, a young lady's, or even as an entry table!

Well, sadly I didn't take before shots of Mr Waddles, but hubby & I worked together on giving him a new lease on life! I did take a pic of him all disassembled, but he'd already been partly rebuilt & sanded at this point lol!

This fun little antique belonged to my birth mom as a child so he is close to 80 years old! His stick was broken & taped in multiple places, his foot was broken right off, & he had lost his beak somewhere over the years! All have been mended or replaced, & he's been stained as well as given a protective coat of wax.

We didn't want to make him appear shiny/new, preferring to preserve his patina to show his age, but also make him handsome & hardy 😀 Do you think we accomplished our goals? He was a fun little project ❤️

This vintage quality oak Gerald Collins 6 piece queen bedroom suite is available as is, or for a full custom reFURb! ($600 as is...reFURb is $30/hr + materials).

Manufactured in Montmagny, Québec, likely in the 1960s, this masculine (IMHO) set is in amazing shape with gorgeous burlwood inlays & unique inset brass hardware! I'm thinking it could easily be modernized with a simple refresh via colour change with a quick scuff sand & gel stain, OR it could be a complete face-lift with paint! We are only limited by our imagination! I actually love this style of oak furniture painted because the wood grain still is visible, making it less flat, but I'd hate to paint the burlwood inlays, so a paint/stain combo look also could be a stunning option! This set includes a headboard, long dresser with mirror, cedar lined armoire, & 2 nightstands.

It should be noted that the top of the long dresser has some water damage, so would either have to be painted, faux wood finish, or new veneer.
